We can no longer connect to the G4 server with Windows XP. The Renaissance company tells us
that serioius data corruption will occur. The problem lies with the incompatibility of XP with the
server software. Windows 98 is fine, but not XP. Therefore, please DO NOT use any XP machines to
connect to the Renlearn folder on the G4 Server. We are experiencing severe data corruption at
schools who are using XP.

We are working on solutions. In the meantime continue using the G4 server with the old Macs and
Windows 98 machines. If you use XP you eventually will suffer data corruption and/destruction. We
are frantically trying to restore data to a handful of schools who have used XP. Due to some data
back up issues, we may only restore lost or destroyed data from December, 2004. This is too
much to lose.

Also, we need to do a better job making sure machines are shut off at night. Ron is working like
crazy to provide us with the best back ups possible. We need to help him do his job. The fact that
only a dozen schools out of 70+ had machines left on is pretty good.
