**NEW WEB SITES: New web sites to explore are:
www.kidport.com,
www.dltk-cards.com,
www.hprtec.org (then go to Casa Notes, Think tank, and topics,
subtopics. Have fun exploring these sites - we did.

**LISTSERVER: The ListServer has proven to be a great tool for
communication. Also a good way to remind Lab Techs of upcoming
meetings and events.

**SERVER: The server had a virus attack it with all 67 G4 Servers
being infected throughout the district. The virus scan protection on the
main server did not pick up this virus. Measures have been taken to
ensure that this may not happen again.

**VIRUSES: One virus to watch for is attached to the "AutoPlay" on the
cd controls. Make sure that "Autoplay" is disabled or turned off to avoid
this particular virus. Under the MPS Homepage, Intranet, is an icon to
click onto to scan your computer for any viruses. It was suggested that
we do this scan on each of our lab computers. (Using "Network Asst"
made this an easy task.

**TRAINING FOR TEACHERS: Training on how to save to the server
without saving in the AR folders will soon be set up. It was suggested
that we give teachers/staff about a 24 hr. notice that any and all
folders, documents, and such that are saved in the AR folders will be
"tossed into the trash" and emptied. The notice will give them time to
retrieve any files they need and to save them elsewhere.

**PRIVATE ACCOUNTS: Folders for teachers have already been
established but first each teacher must log on to see their folder
listed. Their log in name is their email address, password is
"welcome". After the teacher logs in for the first time, suggest that they
change their password to make it private and one that they can
remember.

**MODULAR 4: The last Modular 4 training for this year is May 16th.
See if any of your teachers who have not yet been trained on Modular 4
would be available to take this last training session. Betsy Monfort will
try to set up a training session for the Lab Techs who have not yet had
Modular 4. If you are interested, please contact Betsy Monfort. More
info to come.

**POTLUCK info to be sent seperately on another list posting.

The NEXT MEETING is at Field Elementary School, 2325 E. Adobe.
For directions you may go to "Mapquest" and print out the map and
driving directions. This will be the last meeting of the year and we will
discuss closing down the labs for the summer. It will be May 24th,
Friday, at 9:00am.

Thank you, Pam Griffin, Crismon Elementary School, x2-4003

(If any of you have anything to add that I have omitted, please feel free
to do so. Thanks.)
