I have added a new file to the misc section of the LabTech directory
on g4is. It is called FrameSplicer. It is freeware and it will
convert Quicktime movies into DV format that you can import into
iMovie.
The use that mostly comes to mind is movie trailers. I recently took
the end of the Terminator 3 trailer where Arnie looks back over his
shoulder and says, "She'll be back" in an iMovie I put together. You
can the currently available trailers at http://www.apple.com/trailers/
Please be sure to observe of proper copyright attributions if you do this
As for FrameSplicer, I haven't fully tested it so they may be an
element of risk. A small one, but a possible one. It is only provided
to the Lab Techs as a courtesy. But let me know if you have any
problems
