We had a really good turnout for the meeting. Jason Jacobson from Ed Tech
was here.

We discussed the rollout for Windows 8:
>Windows 7 is currently being tested on some computers (mostly office area
staff and not all schools)
>Eventually saving to My Documents will save documents to some sort of
district storage site
>Synergy works well on Windows 8
>Some software is not working on Windows 8. There is a list of software
that has been tested and you can see it here:
http://www.mpsaz.org/untethered/windows-81
>>The white button is the current list. The red button is to be used to
submit software for review.
>Some equipment (scanners for instance) may not work on Windows 8. If
equipment doesn't work, district is in the process of finding updates for
the equipment, OR finding out what equipment can be purchased to replace
the non-working equipment
>Ed Tech is aware that WE (Lab Techs) need training on Windows 8 and are
hoping to include us in the training
>The software for Windows 8 will be Update 1 (not Windows 8.1)
>WE may need to install Flashplayer or update other software - no definite
information about that currently

Teachers are getting new equipment - Lenovo Thinkpad Helix Ultrabook
>It is a tablet/laptop (mobi type) piece of equipment that can be docked
>It will use wireless projection
>There is no CD or DVD drive -- if you have a USB DVD that might work
