If you try to use any Office 98 application and get a type 1 or type 
2 error, there is a simple fix.

In System Folder > Extensions you will find six extensions that start 
with the word "Microsoft". Throw these away and empty the trash. Then 
open an Office app. You will be prompted for a user name and 
organization. The next box will show the support number. Click ok and 
you're done. When the Office app opens it reinstalls the deleted files
