This is the recommended method for doing all Mac drive mapping:

Apple menu> Chooser> Appleshare> Server IP button

Enter the server name (g4<whatever>) and click connect.

The rest of it from that point is the same as using Appletalk to connect

(This gives you the best speed and most stable connection to the g4server.)

And when setting up network assistant, DO NOT set ip range. When you
get to that point, just cancel out.
