We have a server that kids can store their work on. On the PC desktop are
links to the server, shared and myhome. Shared is mapped to V and myhome is
mapped to U. We have the kids login to myhome before they begin any
programs. When trying to access the myhome account through certain
programs (more than one program) we get inconsistent results. Sometimes we
get a sharing violation. Other times we have to navigate through the network
tree to save files instead of being able to use the desktop shortcut. Other
times it works just fine. When we get a sharing violation the computer has
created additional copies of MYHOME all in caps. I don’t understand this issue.
Is there a problem with the desktop short cut or with the drive being mapped?

Thanks,
