I had some trouble with mavis beacon also. I have a PC lab. Lauren
Sarr with IS realized that it was starting up with my start menu. She had
me turn it off and this stopped a lot of freezing and locking up problems
that I was having.

To do this click on START , then settings, then task bar and start
menu, next click on start menu programs, and then click on
advanced. From here I could see the Mavis Beacon icon so I right clicked
on it and told it to go away.

By doing this it stopped the program from starting up with windows and
running in the background. It would fill up my swap file memory and cause
my computer to freeze.
Good Luck
Melisa
