Here's the way to change the virtual memory so Phonics works.

Helen,

You must change your virtual memory settings.
1.  At the desktop, right click on My Computer.
2.  Go to Properties.
3.  Click on the Advanced tab at the top.
4.  Under Performance, click the Settings button.
5.  Then click the Advanced tab at the top.
6.  At the bottom of this screen you will see your virtual memory.
    Click on the Change button.
7.  On this screen you will want to change your Initial size (MB) to
    match your Maximum Size (MB).  I have mine set at 3048.
    Once you make the change, click on the Set button to set it and then
click OK.

This should work.  I did have one computer on campus that wanted to be
different, but I was able to work around it.  Feel free to call if you
have any problems getting Harcourt Phonics to work.
