Never experienced that problem before.. but what you might try is this..

Enable the Teacher Menu (Ctrl-Alt T) when at the first screen
Select Individualize Student from the Teacher Menu
Select Grade and Student Name
On the Individualize screen you can set what the current lesson number is,
set to 15 (hopefully it will increment automatically from this point on...)
