Thanks for all the great leads. I do not have any files or alias in
either the Startup folder or the Server folder. However the problem
is sporadic, and I know all windows and applications are closed prior
to shutdown. I am accumulating cache files in the trash. I just
started watching it, but so far they do seem to correspond to the
times when Files open at startup.
I am running Network Assistant but I haven't noticed any of the
symptoms that you describe. Just occasionally refusing to copy an
item to a particular machine, or saying a file already exists on a
machine when I can't find it.
