Anyone interested in having OS X installed this summer in their labs
needs to let me know before schools close for the summer. And if you
have classrooms that want it installed, the same applies. And if you
need to consult your principle that's not a problem

At this point I can say with full confidence that there is no OS 8/9
application I haven't been able to make work. I'll probably find one
sooner or later. But the only one that has a really annoying problem
but still works is KidPix. The stamp moves in a jerky fashion that
makes it hard to place stamps precisely. But I understand OS 9 has
this same problem. Upgrading is up to the school. You can check with
ET if there's anything in the works for a district license. KidPixX
is very cool

I want to thank Cathy Pickens at Kerr for setting up one of her iMacs
so I could copy it off for testing with OS X. She had been using OS
9.0.4 to retain compatibility for her software. All of which worked
in classic mode on OS X

And a big thank you to Jodie Thompson. She had the oldest model iMacs
and OS X did quite well on them. And Jodie solved a lingering problem
with OS 9 apps running on OS X so everyone could benefit by it

One last thing, upgrading to OS X is completely voluntary. There is
no requirement like the OS 8.6 regrade project to do it. But for for
up to date browser support and iMovie projects, it's a good idea
